The 80% ready to fly Champion is a high quality model and
an incredible, high performance competition hand launch
glider which has been developed and refined over many years.
Champion is well named as it has won many European HLG contests.
It features the popular Selig 4083 airfoil thinned to 6%
for the bare minimum of drag. Further drag reduction and
handling improvements are achieved through built in wing-tip
washout.
The Champion represents both original and
modern construction. Its fuselage is made from prepainted,
molded epoxy fiberglass. The wings are precision cut from
virgin white polystyrene foam. The black poplar veneer is
bonded to the foam with aircraft industry grade epoxy in
a high pressure mold for perfect airfoil fidelity and a
warp-free wing. The stabilizers are made from lightweight
balsa, finish sanded, and pre-hinged.
